Material Program Manager II

AWS Product Line has an opening for Material Program Manager II.

This position will be responsible for developing material strategies; proposal and execution of contracts; coordinate Material Planning, Procurement, Integrated Product Team Leads and Engineers. Applicants for this position must have at least 8 years’ experience and/or extensive knowledge in procurement, contracts, production control, logistics and program material strategy, financial execution of material requirements, and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities. The selected candidate will be accountable for creating a vision around supply chain requirements and process initiatives, driving systemic improvements for material flow and accountability, and instilling a “can-do” sense of ownership and alignment between the Supply Chain Team and the Program and Functional Organizations.


U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  1. Instilling a culture within the RMS supply chain organization towards strategic thinking and planning/procurement/material management excellence
  2. Collaborating with the RMS Supply Chain leadership team in order to ensure the consistent development and disciplined execution of affordable Supply Chain solutions for AWS Programs
  3. Execution of work in a classified environment
  4. Developing material strategies and preparing and executing Material Program Plans (MPPs)
  5. Working closely with IPTs to ensure BOM, SSOWs & Drawings support demand
  6. Working closely with procurement to ensure purchase requisitions and POs support demand
  7. Identifying and mitigating program risks as they pertain to material requirements through integrated root cause/corrective action
  8. Manage material financials and mitigate risks to sales, cash flow and EACs
  9. Participate in projects (both Supply Chain and program) to drive material efficiencies and increase material affordability for the program
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain or a related field is required
  • Ability to obtain active Secret DoD Clearance
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience in supply chain, material program management, manufacturing, engineering, finance, contracts, program management and/or quality functions
  • Experience operating in classified program networks
  • Experience creating and executing strategies for major contracts or sub-contracts
  • Experience creating and executing master schedules and planning procurement for developing programs
  • Proven success and demonstration of solving material planning/procurement issues and driving successful outcomes
  • Leader in a cross-functional, matrix environment
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to plan, control and direct activities and resources
  • U. S. Citizenship

Desired Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Master’s degree Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain or a related field and/or additional professional certifications desired
  • Current, Active Secret or Top Secret clearance with SAP caveats
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to listen well and communicate effectively with others; keen attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships based on mutual respect with peers, customers and team members
  • Knowledge and experience in Export/Import Compliance requirements for international business partners and suppliers, beneficial, but not required

Security Clearance: This position requires the successful issuance, transfer or maintenance of a Secret security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
