Material Cost Analyst 4

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Material Cost Analyst 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

The selected candidate will set up cost control systems, monitor and control costs and schedules on contracts requiring a validated cost schedule control system.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed upon parameters and government cost control guidelines
  • Prepares budgets and schedules for contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis Prepares program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled
  • Performs schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks
  • Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government
  • Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent discipline with 10+ years of experience in managing and deploying cost control systems
    • Or a Master’s degree and 8+ years of experience in managing and deploying cost control systems
  • Proven experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel is also required (i.e. ability to create, maintain, analyze and manipulate spreadsheets with complex formulas)
  • An Active DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the past 5 years
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with MPM and SAP user knowledge
  • Extensive work experience as a cost material or labor planner
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with and mentor Cost Account Managers and Senior Management
  • General understanding and experience with Global Supply Chain Processes
