IDS Manufacturing Engineering (MfgE) provides premier engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations. MfgE executes across all phases of a Program including proposal capture, process development, transition to production, and production support.

Manufacturing Engineering's engagement with IDS products is not just limited to IDS manufacturing sites. We support our large supplier network and international builds with deployment of engineers. These engineers help to resolve supplier issues before they come into IDS factories; as well as helping to integrate Major End Items (MEIs) at domestic and international sites.

Job Description: Second Shift position:

The Circuit Card Assembly Department is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide second shift production floor support in a fast paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will apply your skills in maintaining and improving upon current processes, while having the opportunity to develop new processes and technologies based on innovation. The day-to-day responsibilities would include resolution to real-time production issues, initiate and contribute to process improvement and affordability initiatives, execute cycle time reduction projects, and develop manufacturing process documentation in support of production fabrication.

Specific Responsibilities Include
  • Translating engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation
  • Disposition discrepant hardware
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Developing tooling concepts
  • Interfacing with customers and suppliers
  • Conducting safety/ergonomic assessments
  • Generating and maintaining labor standards
This position will require interaction with senior personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and/or suppliers.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.


This is a second shift position which includes a 8% added pay differential

This position can be Salary Grade G07 or G08 based on the applicant's qualifications as they relate to the skills, leadership, experience, and responsibility requirements of the position.



Required Skills:
  • 2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Manufacturing Process & Procedure Development and Maintenance experience
  • Specialized tooling development (fixtures, specialized packaging development) experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Ability to work with minimum direct supervision.
  • Quality Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent.
  • Active DoD Clearance (Secret, Confidential)
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Experience with related military and/or industry standards and specifications
  • Experience with disposition of non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical Degree
