Job Description
Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a Manager Product Support 1 to provide objective-oriented direction and work assignment to team members utilizing management guidelines & general policies. Manages a segment of a program or a function with responsibility for the direct supervision/management of the staff.
Responsibilities include:
  • Planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality, full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a mid-size technical services-type contract
  • Full working knowledge of procedures and practices
  • Oversees projects and task assigned to the organizational group performed by non-exempt and/or exempt employees. Becomes involved only when required to assist in meeting schedules or to resolve technical or operational problems. May accomplish results through lower level supervisor or exempt employees
  • Executes department procedures that typically affect individual employees within own department. Policy management: Interprets and executes policies and procedures that typically affect subordinate organizational units. Recommends modifications to operating policies
  • Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget
  • Accomplishes results through lower-level subordinate supervisors or through experienced exempt employees who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments
  • Functions as an advisor to unit regarding tasks, projects, and operations. Becomes actively involved in daily operations only when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems
  • Frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal external representatives concerning specifics operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree andat least 4 years of experience in IETM or training courseware development. In lieu of formal education,high school diploma or GED andat least8 years of applicable experience in IETM or training course development.
  • Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Full knowledge of industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and system description documents.
  • Be able to write in XML
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Applicants must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
  • Must have acurrent DoDSecret Security Clearance with ability to maintain. The Security background investigation granting that clearance must have been completed within the last 5 years.
  • Must be able to be granted program access within 365 days.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Eagle/EPS publishing System
  • Experience in utilizing theUSAF Flight Manual or Maintenance Manual change process
  • Experience writing in XML/S1000D International Specification for Technical Publications/IETM/Data Module writing (Arbortext, EAGLE, XMetal, or similar program)
  • 6-12 years' experience as an air vehicle operator or maintainer
  • Current DoDTop Secret Security Clearance with ability to maintain. The Security background investigation granting that clearance must have been completed within the last 5 years.
