Manager III-Program Management

Job Description:
The Program Planning and Support (PPS) Section Manager (SM) will be responsible for management of a group of approximately 20 Planners, Integrated Program Management Analysts, and Program Integrators. Specific responsibilities include:
Ensure their Product Line/Area has the appropriate trained staff, people, process and tools to support programs, while focusing and motivating program teams to achieve established goals. Provide section leadership for PM process, tools and best practice discipline to include appropriate technical consulting, interfacing, analysis and training for control account managers, IPT leads, PMs and program personnel on program structures, IMS and all technical data associated with the IMS. Ensure product line programs employ predictive and reactive techniques to help teams execute flawlessly: Critical Chain, reverse planning, Schedule RAACCE, SRAs. Champion of schedule risk assessment process for product line, ensuring SRAs are understood and actions incorporated into program plans. Partners with business area leadership, program area directors (PAD), capture managers (CM) and program managers (PM) to ensure the schedule/program plan is executable (cost, schedule and technical requirements are fully integrated) and executing as planned. Ensure Programs have an appropriately tailored, documented approach for IMS/EVM and a cadence established for daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly status and reporting requirements.Demonstrate high expertise in EVMS processes and be considered a subject matter expert in integrated scheduling, EVM or Program Integration.
Promote PMX community of practice and drive continuous/experiential learning. Support the Program Planning and Scheduling Director to further the vision/strategy of enabling superior program execution

Required Skills:
• 10+ years of professional experience in Program Planning, Business management and/or Program management
• Experience using one or more of the following program management tools: Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Risk and Opportunity Management or similar business processes
• Excellent written and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly and competently convey key program messages
Demonstrated ability to balance technical/cost/schedule constraints to achieve customer satisfaction
Demonstrated ability to deliver customer focused solutions
The ability to be agile in a deadline-oriented environment
Interact professionally at executive levels
Experience conducting critical conversations with employees as related to performance development process, identifying development needs of employees, and proven track record coaching employees to excelRequired: This position requires an active Secret Security Clearance.Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related technical field or bachelor’s combined with required years of related experience.
