Patriot Program Manager

The Patriot Programs Integrated Business Team delivers the world’s most advanced air and missile defense system globally. IDS is the prime contractor for Patriot, the world’s most sophisticated long-range, high-altitude, all-weather air and missile defense system.


The Patriot Field Operations Program consists of a diverse portfolio providing Major Item Repairmen, New Equipment Training, Training Devices, Depot Test Equipment and Army Publications to deployed US Patriot forces around the globe and the Army Depot.


The Patriot Systems Field Operations Program Manager is responsible for all facets of program execution and new business capture across the Patriot Systems Field Operations portfolio.


This includes responsibility for managing multiple contracts, proposals, all production, technical, schedule, and cost performance and accountability for meeting program milestones. 


The Program Manager acts as the primary interface with the customer to ensure continued alignment with customer requirements and program execution.


This position will require the ability to coordinate and effectively operate among multiple Raytheon functions, government agencies and the customer at both the senior/executive leadership and product execution levels.


This position will report to the Patriot Systems Director.


Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:


Sets direction for program execution and new business proposal development through multi-functional teams


Develops program enhancing partnerships with the Patriot Product Line Team, contracts, finance, integrated supply chain, quality, engineering, and administrative functions


Develop effective relationships with broad and diverse customer base


Meeting contractual commitments including the financial, quality, technology, and schedule performance using the approved business model and management tools including EVMS, IPDS, PRISM, etc.


Uses approved control systems and reports that accurately measure progress, identify potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken and ensures the meeting of contract commitments.


Manage regular internal status reviews including Gate Reviews, Program Management Reviews


Focuses, evaluates, motivates and rewards the program team, enabling them to achieve desired results


Willingness to travel frequently


Supports a program organizational culture aligned with Raytheon vision and values 



Basic Qualifications:



10+ years’ experience in program management, operations, and execution of sustainment programs involving large weapon systems


Six Sigma Certified


Experience with US and International Integrated Air Defense Weapons Systems


Knowledge and understanding of DOD Contractors, Battlefield requirements and Raytheon employees deployed with US Forces overseas


DoD approved Secret Security Clearance


Program Management (PMX) Certified


Masters in Management or Engineering



Desired Skills:


Proven capable of building strong customer relationships


Experience with and understanding of export and import controls, compliance and licensing


Senior leadership experience


Demonstrated experience in executing and meeting five year plans and AOP


Direct experience in logistics requirements of complex weapons systems or equivalent


Direct experience in program planning, budgeting, and tracking (EVMS) to cost and schedule


Direct experience as a Patriot instructor/writer with qualification in one of the following: Methods of Instruction (MOI), Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC), or Raytheon Instructor Training Course (ITC)
