Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (AS) the company's second largest sector at over $10B in revenue, operating margin of 13.3% and more than 20,000 employees is seeking a Deputy Manager of A/V Sub-Systems.The Special Programs Sub-Systems Deputy will report to the Special Programs Sub-Systems IPT Director and will assist in providing direction and leadership to the A/V Subsystem IPT to design, develop and integrate highly effective, affordable and low risk utility systems. This position will execute processes and proceduresof the IPT and track the technical, cost and schedule objectives of the IPT.

The successful candidate in this position will exhibit broad technical knowledge of Sub-Systems development on Air Vehicles. This position requires strong interpersonal skills in order to lead, collaborate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external executive leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years' experience in engineering with emphasis on sub-systems development on Air Vehicles
  • Experience leading design teams in developing Air Vehicle Sub-Systems with ECS, Electrical, Fluid and Mechanical Systems that meet quality, performance, cost, and schedule requirements
  • Experience in requirements management inclusive of development, derivation, validation and verification of requirements
  • Real time knowledge of IPT/Program Management processes (CAM processes, project planning and scheduling, cost control, change control, EVMS, staffing, coordination and oversight of technical work effort and risk and opportunity management)
  • Knowledge of end-to-end program lifecycle
  • Real time experience in Preliminary Design, Integration, and Test of Air Vehicle Sub-Systems
  • A DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance and SAP Access


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A DoD Top Secret clearance with SAP Access
  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
  • Possesses technical credibility to engage with internal and external customers and sub-contractors
  • Improve team dynamic Leverage experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to the team
