Manager 1, Antenna Test Development Off-Shift Functional Manager

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector - located in Linthicum, MD - is seeking an Antenna Test Development Off-Shift Functional Manager for the Test Operations & Product Development Labs team.

The Antenna Test Development Off-Shift Functional Manager will perform both group management duties as well as the performance of individual productive work on several production programs during working times OTHER THAN first shift Monday through Friday.

Group management duties: Supervise a group of 5-10 test software and hardware production test follow engineers working various programs; perform yearly goal setting; evaluate performance; enable skill development and career growth; monitor compliance with department processes and company values; provide team leadership and engagement; and approve weekly time charging.

The employees that will be supervised will be working 2nd and 3rd shift, Monday through Friday AND 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift Saturday and Sunday. Functional management duties will need to be performed at times during those shifts. The Manager will need to adjust his/her working times in order to lead effectively across these work shifts. The Manager will ensure good communication between shifts and coordinate software development and test troubleshooting activities between shifts.

Individual Contributor role: 10% of the workload will involve project management of a program or capital funded project. Duties will include effective management oversight, managing manpower and providing technical oversight to the project, and communication of status to program or business management.

The chosen candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills and strong team leadership experience.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related STEM curriculum
7 years of relevant experience (5 years with an MS)
Experience in leading or managing projects and/or people
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required. An Interim Secret clearance will be required to start the job. US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of experience in a test engineering or integration & test environment
Previous antenna design or test experience
Functional manager, program manager, IPT lead, and/or other significant leadership role that included people and technical leadership as well as project cost and schedule responsibilities
Experience in designing and building test equipment
Experience in designing and managing test facilities, working with facilities engineering and facility design teams
Active Secret clearance. SAP clearances are also desired.
