PAE has an opportunity for a Mail Operation Analyst to join our team on our Federal Government contract in Sterling, VA.

Essential duties and responsibilities for the position include the following:

  • Work with Site Managers to develop and streamline work flows and ensure that all expected metrics provided by the Federal government are met accordingly.
  • Support and guide implementation of new processes
  • Review existing processes to include proprietary logistics and mail management systems and make recommendations to reduce the number of times mail and packages are handled
  •  Support the development and implementation of process enhancement initiatives
  • Collect metrics on mail volumes and work quality; conduct statistical analysis, report progress, perform trend analysis and forecast predictable performance
  • Research and drive best practices that will lead to process enhancement initiatives
  • Manage and maintain multiple spread sheets with the most up-to-date frequency schedules and sort plans for both sorting machines
  • Send and tabulate monthly surveys to authorized users overseas and within the District, Maryland and Virginia area
  • Collect, review, analyze and report surveillance monthly data
  • Maintain process maps and performance baselines
  • Provide managerial oversight of the bulk shipment program and liaise with Government supervisors regarding funding

The Basic Qualifications for this position are as follows:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability determination.

Minimum Experience, Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7 years of work experience; Functional experience with mail operations and strong understanding of USPS postal operations/regulations and bulk shipment processes
  • Benchmarking skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Customer /Client Focus
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Visio
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical background
  • Understanding of best practices related to mail operations
  • Problem identification, analysis and resolution

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer skills required: MS Office Suite skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment and relate well to others
  • Ability to show initiative and commitment to the company’s goals
  • Ability to readily adapt to changing requirements
  • Strong commitment to performing and producing at the highest level of quality at all times
  • Ability to manage individual workflow effectively and improve processes when necessary
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers both in written and verbal communications

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects office equipment; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to Lift up to 70 pounds, bend, reach, carry, stoop, kneel, climb, etc.
