PAE has an opportunity for a Mail Clerk/Courier/Data Entry Clerk to join our team on our Federal Government contract.

THIS SCA MAIL CLERK POSITION PAYS $12.91/ PER HOUR, COURIER POSITION PAYS $14.02/ PER HOUR and the DATA ENTRY CLERK POSITION PAYS $14.23

The Data Entry Operator II is responsible for providing administrative support to those personnel supporting the adjudication process of individuals who have applied for immigration and citizenship benefits.​  The Driver Courier is responsible for delivery of mail to include unopened classified items, packages, and files between and among operating units within the government agency. The Mail Clerk is responsible for providing administrative support to those personnel supporting the adjudication process of individuals who have applied for immigration and citizenship benefits.

Essential duties and responsibilities for the position include the following:

  • Serves as the link between external postal services and the site and office workers
  • Responsible for the pickup and delivery of both internal and external government mail including regular, bulk, classified, pouch, and guard mail
  • Date and time stamps all incoming mail per government agency timelines
  • Sorts internal mail to be delivered to intended destination/worker
  • Uses mail cart to transport mail to destinations
  • Prepares outgoing mail for delivery to selective postal service
  • Maintains familiarity with automated mail equipment, USPS rules, and regulations, and UPS and Federal Express procedures; knowledgeable in packing requirements and government mail regulations
  • Ensures mail is being sent the most cost-effective way, by comparing rates of multiple couriers. (USPS, Fedex, UPS etc.)
  • Coordinates mail pickups with other couriers
  • Operates machinery that collates, fold, and insert material into envelopes for mailing
  • Operates postage meter that calculates, applies postage, and tracks postage expenditure
  • Maintains a daily log with appropriate receipts. Uses computer data entry program to record and track incoming and outgoing mail
  • Drives, loads, and unloads light trucks, vans, or other type government vehicles to pick up and deliver bulk messages, documents, packages, mail or other materials to various government agency facilities and business concerns
  • Operates government vehicle according to applicable motor vehicle regulations, traffic laws, company policy and safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, auto insurance guidelines, and vehicle check and accident/damage notification requirements
  • May be asked to transport office personnel and visitors, and perform miscellaneous errands such as carrying mail to and from the post office and sorting or opening incoming and outgoing mail
  • Obtains receipts for articles delivered and keeps a log of items received and delivered
  • Ensures that materials are delivered to location designated by instructions and follows all additional written instructions associated with the delivery of the materials
  • Obtains signatures and date/time information as required for a proper receipt
  • Coordinates and prioritizes all work requests
  • Ensures necessary follow-up steps are used to institute an effective quality control procedure for assigned work
  • The Courier will likely be assigned more than one job title such as Mail Clerk, File Clerk, Data Entry Clerk or General Office Worker and will record time based upon hours actually worked on each duty
  • Enters information from source documents directly into various government agency automated systems using formatted input screens
  • Modifies, updates, and corrects data contained in automated systems such as; applications, petitions, forms, supplemental documentation, decisions and other applicable documents
  • Performs data inquiries and searches on automated systems
  • Generates record and reports from these systems
  • Performs name and identification number searches
  • Provides responses to government agency to special inquiries, file extractions, conformance audits, and data-file reconciliation efforts.
  • Requires the application of training, experience and judgement in selecting procedures to be followed in searching for, interpreting, selecting, or coding items

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (if not already cleared)
  • Active current Secret clearance with DOD or ability to obtain clearance at that level
  • Must successfully complete a drug screening
  • Must be computer literate, be able to enter data at a reasonable rate, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word
  • Must pass the PAE Core Skills Computer Assessment
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit or any combination thereof for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds, bend, carry, kneel, and climb
  • Strong attention to detail

Minimum Experience, Education and Licensure:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of prior administrative and/or customer service experience
  • Comprehension of basic computer programs
  • 1 year of experience utilizing Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and 1-3 years of driving and/or messenger experience operating a full-sized passenger or cargo van with a good driving record, which is defined (at a minimum) of: not having a DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding over 30 miles per hour, or multiple driving violations that suspends their license. This must be certified by the individual as part of the employment application and every six months of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience working with the public is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit or stand for long periods of time, stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, office equipment, or supplies. Use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also be able to conduct repetitive body movements, push, reach, stoop and/ or bend and lift up to 45 pounds repetitively at times.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily performed in a traditional office environment, but may also include all other work environments as required.
