SAIC has an opening for a Mac System
Administrator located in Washington, DC.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under minimal supervision,
provide on-site technical support, primarily for Macintosh systems and Apple
products, by performing installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of
workstations and related software/hardware; perform troubleshooting software
and hardware failures and apply domain specific knowledge to return equipment
to operational status within agreed upon Service Level Agreement
parameters.
Job Duties include:
- Install,
troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain computers, workstations, laptops,
printers, scanners, and any other equipment within the scope of this
position.
- Deploy software,
run reports, create and test software packages through the use of
Intune/Jamf/Apple Profile Manager to create, test, deploy and manage Government
standard computer images.
- Perform software
asset management, and software license management tasks as assigned, interact
daily with supervisor, peer groups and customers in order to manage work flow
in timely and professional manner.
- Perform in a
dynamic environment and be available to work non-standard hours when needed.
- Interacts with
users and evaluates vendor products.
- Composes recommendations
for the purchase of hardware and software and supports the schedules, plans,
and oversees system upgrades.
- Perform a
variety of moderately complex assignments and problems of moderate scope associated
with monitoring and controlling computer operating systems (Windows and Macs)
- Set up and
maintain computer systems; analyzes system faults, troubleshoot and run
diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems;
- Evaluate and install
developed software during various phases of testing; review and prepare
documentation for systems, test and install software;
- Perform
preventive maintenance on the operating systems and repair system/environment
problems;
- Administer systems/environment
solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules.
- Exercises
independent judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting
methods, techniques and criteria for obtaining results.
- Ensures project
schedules, and performance requirements are met.
- Duties may also
include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system
documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, validating
and implementing critical system patches.
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience
working with Macintosh Systems and Apple Products performing:
- Installation, repair, and preventative maintenance
of workstations and related software/hardware
- Analyze system faults, troubleshoot, running
diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems
Experience with Intune/Jamf/Apple
Profile Manager: - Create, test, deploy and manage Government standard
computer images.
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting
