Logistics Planner

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Logistics Planner 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
Candidate will be responsible to perform Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) management tasks on assigned subsystems to ensure DMSMS contractual requirements and program support strategy are achieved.Ability to develop/maintain an obsolescence bill of material, provide health screening, through the use of commercial tools, Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) notifications, and supplier surveys. Candidate is expected to proactively identify issues, perform obsolescence forecasting, life time buy/bridge buy quantity calculations, and track issue resolution development (by researching and working with Engineering on the development of solutions) through solution implementation.
Candidate will support efforts to obtain data required to create, analyze, and produce DMSMS technology roadmaps, impact assessments, and issue reports and present data to customers and upper management, as required. Applicant will be expected to maintain close coordination with several integrated product teams, provide detailed status to program leadership, and participate in DMSMS management technical interchange meetings, as required.
Candidate will work well in teams.Verbal, writing, presentation, and leadership skills are essential. Position responsibilities include direct interface with customer, travel and ability to multitask.Working knowledge of the Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) process is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is essential.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degreefrom an accredited universitywith 3+ years of logistics experience
  • Must have an Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the last5-6 years
  • Must have the ability to obtain program access


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of military systems
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Logistics and/or obsolescence management experience
