Logistics Analyst Sr

Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: 
Conduct failure analysis, level of repair analysis, and cost analysis on multiple systems and subsystem components for Combat Vehicles. Provide maintenance tasks and engineering design change recommendations. Deliver Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) for various systems and subsystem components for Combat Vehicle upgrades. Ensure tools and support equipment are identified using the Department of Defense inventory providing the most cost effective and efficient way for SAIC and the customer to obtain. 
 
Performs acquisition and integrated life cycle logistics support for major DoD acquisition programs managed by the different branches of the military (Air Force, Army, Marine Corp or Navy).  Controls the efficient flow of goods, services and information between points of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements. Provides senior level support in the execution of Product Support Analysis (PSA) and Logistics Product Data (LPD).  Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistic processes.  Implements and manages a complete supply chain management system to include:  analysis of material requirements metrics tracking and management process to assess performance against readiness requirements.  Provides senior level support and oversight in the management of applicable logistics data repositories i.e., SLICwave, EAGLE.  This position requires a working knowledge in the application and implementation of the twelve elements of integrated logistics (Design Interface, Sustaining Engineering, Supply Support, Maintenance Planning and Management, Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation, Technical Data, Support Equipment, Training and Training Support, Manpower and Personnel, Facilities and Infrastructure, Computer Resources, Product Support).  
 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Complete understanding and wide application of logistics principles, concepts, practices, and standards.  Full knowledge of industry practices.  Performs assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives.  Provides guidance to more junior team members to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives.  Administers company policies that directly affect employees.  Recommends changes to team policies. 
 
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops solutions to a variety of problems moderate in scope and complexity. May refer to policies, procedures and practices.
 
FREEDOM TO ACT: Works under only general direction.  Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.  Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.  Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
 
IMPACT: Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.  Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.
 
LIASON: Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects.  Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience, will consider 10+ years’ experience in lieu of degree.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • In depth knowledge in the execution and management of DoD major acquisition and life cycle logistics program requirements, processes, tools, and guidance documents
  • Excellent communication skills; inter-personal; organizational and detail-oriented
  • Thrives in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple project assignments.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications including word-processing, presentation, and spreadsheet and integrated software applications is required.
  • Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
