Logistics Advisor, Senior

Key Role:

Lead a multi-company contract team to meet logistics requirements of complex Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case and develop strategies and plans for the integration of logistics into overall case execution. Advise the principal assistant program manager for logistics in developing and maintaining ship sustainment strategy for initial outfitting estimates for new construction. Deliver program support services to a US Navy new build ship program office in the execution of program and project logistics and acquisition management. Ensure Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) programs and processes adhere to appropriate acquisition guidelines and requirements, including Life Cycle Cost (LCC) estimates. This position is located in Washington DC.

Basic Qualifications:

-15+ years of experience with Navy acquisition logistics for new construction surface combatants

-Experience as a former US Navy Supply Corps Senior Officer with NAVSEA or Program Executive Office (PEO)

-Experience with US Navy PEO support providing acquisition logistics services and expertise for ship and shipboard systems

-Experience with logistics acquisition for new construction and fleet introduction of naval ships, including design changes, ship alterations, and identification of how these alterations affect logistics acquisition support

-Experience with formal education or training in DoD acquisition programs and processes

-Knowledge of the DoD and US Navy logistics acquisition process, including regulations, directives, and statutes and the Navy’s application of the DoD acquisition process

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in NAVSEA supporting program offices with life cycle acquisition and logistics, including Littoral Combat Ship (LCS)

-Experience with naval ship construction and pre-commissioning unit

-Experience with logistics support to naval FMS programs

-BA or BS degree in a related field

-National Defense University (NDU) or Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) Graduate

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
