Linux System Administrator

The Challenge:

Your combination of people skills and technical expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. We’re looking for a systems administrator to secure Linux servers in virtualized environments to help us create and or modify shell scripts (ex: Bash, Perl, Python), establish partition disks, create logical volumes, and create or mount Linux file systems and deploy Cybersecurity solutions across the defense community

As a systems administrator on our project, you’ll manage and maintain secure, minimally interrupted operations of Linux servers in virtualized environments. You’ll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. You’ll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning. This is an opportunity to broaden your skillset into areas where you will develop and document technical procedures plus install and configure COTS software. We focus on growing as a team, so you’ll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team work through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a technical leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to modernize the network to help your customers meet their needs. You Have:

-Experience with installing and configuring COTS software

-Experience with Linux operating system

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree and 6 years of experience with system administration or 10 years of experience with system administration in lieu of degree

-DoD 8570 Certification at IAT Level II, including Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, or SCNA

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with enterprise-level storage concepts, including commonly used RAID-levels

-Experience with identify management (SS), VMware, and ESXi

-Knowledge of remediating security vulnerabilities, including hardening Red Hat systems in accordance with RMF and STIGs

-Ability to create custom RPM packages for Red Hat platforms

-Top Secret clearance

-Red Hat Certified
