Experience sunny California in one of the beach communities of Los Angeles County on the Santa Monica Bay! Work with rocket scientists on technically challenging space projects critical to the defense and security of the U.S. As a member of MITRE's Information Security team, help architect cyber security solutions for Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) systems. This could include software assurance, penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and software development.

 

Key Functions:
• Candidate will be able to work in diverse areas as part of Space Systems to include the Global Positioning System, MILSATCOM, Hosted Payload and Launch Range (knowledge of these areas is desired, but not required).
• The position has some flexibility in the types of assignments which may include some of the following:
• Cryptography and Encryption Technologies
• Security Testing and Assessment
• Software Assurance
• Systems Security Engineering
• Information Assurance, Threat Assessment, & Analysis
• Risk Management Assessment
• Supply Chain Protection
• Cross Domain Technologies
• DoD Program Protection Planning
• Anti-tamper, Anti-spoof Technologies
• DoD Certification & Accreditation
• Candidate must be able to collaborate with government contractors; work in multi-disciplinary teams; conduct project planning and execution; build trusted relationship; analyze existing processes, roles, organizational structures; and support applications to identify and recommend improvements in processes, organizations, and technologies.

Required Qualifications:
High level of insight, ingenuity, initiative, creativity, productivity.
• Knowledge of the following are desired, but not required: National Security Space Systems; Static Analysis and tools such as Fortify, App Scan; Dynamic analysis/Penetration testing and tools such as Burp Suite, Fuzzing; software languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, Perl.
• Ability to organize and write any MITRE product and prepare and present a coherent briefing, with minimal review needed

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required knowledge qualifications listed above, the following other knowledge proficiencies are also strongly desired:
-GPS systems and signals
-Position, Navigation, and Timing
-Modernized GPS civil and military applications
-Enterprise modeling and simulation

 

Minimum Qualifications:
BS and 8 years related experience
