Law Clerk 1 – New York, NY

Job Description

CACI is seeking a law clerk to support a government contract in New York, NY. You’ll support the International Trade Field Office a division of the Department of Justice. If you are a motivated individual looking to be a part of critical mission, CACI would like to speak with you.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • You will conduct a detailed review of customs cases and prepare related stipulations.
  • You will perform document reviews and assist with the production of U.S. Government materials and in reviewing materials produced by the other side.
  • You will assist with trials and dispositive motions, and the production of these materials, including electronic submissions and presentations at trial.

More About the Role:

  • You will work under the direction of a supervisory paralegal or a project supervisor.
  • You will perform complex legal research.
  • You will assist in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc.
  • You will review documents for relevance and privilege.
  • You will assist attorneys with all phases of litigation.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Justice MBI security clearance. 
  • Requires a law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study minimum. JD preferred.
  • Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. 
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
  • Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging. Experience with document review very desirable.
  • Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources.
