Lab/Testing Engineer

Monitor, analyze, and detect Cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks. Assist with integrated, dynamic Cyber defense. Coordinate and maintain security toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.
 
Perform firewall and network appliance administration to securely enable lab services. Maintain responsibility for system management involving security monitoring, security appliance installation, and other local area system administration related functions. Implement and maintain enterprise domain name system (DNS) and dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP). Strengthen security and hardening systems, including STIG compliance, patching, and removing unneeded services or applications. Support the integration and ongoing monitoring solutions necessary to monitoring the health, performance, and security of enterprise DNS and DHCP solutions proactively. -Experience with the creation and maintenance of hardware and software firewall appliances, including iptables, Cisco, and Juniper -Knowledge of TCP protocols, ports, and port forwarding -Knowledge of IP address management, including management of IP address blocks and DHCP
 
Provide DoD and IC client support and manage three test labs for DIA. Provided system administration and technical support for Windows 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 Servers daily. Responsible for Configuration and Maintenance of ESXI 5.5 hosts. Provide Operation and Sustainment support for the virtualization environment. Deploy new virtual servers (Windows 2008 R2, 2012 R2, Linux), maintain templates, and perform updates when necessary. Troubleshoot and Resolve configuration related VMware issues. Monitor computer resources, maintain resource pools and user entitlements, and applicable policies. Diagnose and troubleshoot end user resource and connection issues, hardware and software problems. Advanced lab capabilities and security posture by working daily with members across other engineering disciplines to include, Storage, SCCM, Network Defense and Networking. Support the design, testing, integration and implementation of server virtualization technologies that enable highly agile provisioning and management of server platforms in support of DIA and DoDIIS mission requirements. Conducted evaluation of new server computing requirements including new technology and vendor research, analysis of alternatives, proof-of concept design/build/test/verify/report. Basic Qualifications: -Experience with VMWare ESXi 5.x or ESXi 6.x management and administration -Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V solutions for Windows Server 2012/2012R2 and Server 2016 -Experience with architecture design, system maintenance and patching, and advanced troubleshooting, capacity management, monitoring, and reporting -TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam -AA or AS degree and 8+ years of experience with IT systems administration and engineering, including maintaining responsibility for high systems availability and secure systems posture, such as patching and maintenance or BA or BS degree and 6+ years of experience with IT systems administration and engineering -DoD 8570 Baseline Security Certification, including Security+, CASP, CISSP, or CISMA or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire Additional
 
Qualifications: -Experience with deploying, configuring, and managing enterprise operating systems and virtualization solutions, including Windows Server 2008/2012/2012R2/2016, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Solaris, and VMware ESXi -Experience with the management of virtual machines through VMWare vCenter -Experience with the management and operational use of systems monitoring tools, including Solarwinds, Splunk, or Microsoft SCOM -Experience with analyzing and enhancing operational procedures and new innovative solutions to address current and emerging IT challenges -Knowledge of ITIL change management and problem management best practices -Ability to work independently and as a team member to solve difficult technical challenges on a global scale -Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills -Possession of excellent team collaboration skills -BA or BS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, or Network Engineering -VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) Certification or VMWare Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) Certification -Microsoft MCSA or MCSE in Windows Server 2012, 2012R2, or 2016 Certification -ITILv3 Certification
