Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide Knowledge Manager (KM) / Project Management Professional (PMP) support in the CNAP HQ by utilizing tools and direction given to you by CNAP Senior Staff.

  • Promotes and markets KM services to expand services and knowledge sharing throughout the command.
  • Provides advice and assistance in planning and coordinating resource, organizational, and leadership requirements to successfully implement Knowledge Management (KM). (Approximately 5 working group assignments annually).
  • Provides advice, assistance and direction to cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the constraints of schedule, budget, and scope. (Approximately 5 working group assignments annually).
  • Provides guidance and support to KM personnel throughout the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  • Performs process analysis, improvement, reengineering, and training utilizing various KM processes and tools. (Approximately 5 working group assignments annually).
  • Conducts KM assessments for planning and managing projects that promote collaboration and knowledge sharing. (Approximately 5 working group assignments annually).
  • Develops KM [processes] to assess and improve knowledge and information flows throughout the command.
  • Develops and promulgate business rules to create repeatable command knowledge [sharing] processes.
  • Introduces technology where possible to automate command knowledge sharing processes for increased efficiencies.
Required Skills
  • Strong oral and writing skills to work closely with all levels of personnel involved in IT operations and technical aspects of systems.
  • Overall computer proficiency including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Have a solid knowledge base and experience level to manage as aspects of COMNAVAIRPAC/LANT SharePoint Portal.
  • Manage all data collection sites for CNAP/CNAL and all Subordinate activities.
  • Manage Template implementation/transition to custom web sites using HTML/JAVA/CSS.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships and effectively communicate with senior management, project managers, and IT operations staff.
  • Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to apply a methodology to projects that have well-defined requirements and deliverables.
Required Experience
  • The Knowledge Manager shall have an advanced degree in business and/or social sciences or equivalent verifiable work experience of five (5) years as a Knowledge Manager for a Department of the Navy organization.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required. A working knowledge of the Six Sigma methods and techniques, a Green Belt certification is required for this position.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
