JWS/DIEE Instructor

This position requires a minimum of five years of experience with Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness (JTCG/ME) products (e.g. JMEM Weaponeering System (JWS), Joint Antiair Combat Effectiveness (J-ACE), Digital Precision Strike Suite Collateral Damage Estimates (DCiDE)) used for training and/or equivalent experience (Goodfellow AFB, Joint Targeting School, Combatant Command (COCOM)-qualified, weapons school, weapon/aircraft program offices) in an applicable career field (e.g. Weaponeering and/or Targeting). Bachelor’s Degree or higher is desired, but may be substituted with operational experience. Applicant must be willing to travel away from home on business up to ten working days a month. Travel includes both CONUS and OCONUS locations. Applicants must be a United States citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport and an active DoD Security Clearance.

 

Required Skills:

  • Applicant must possess the skills necessary to present technical information to large audiences consisting of a broad base of knowledge and expertise, and tailor information to the appropriate level of understanding.
  • Applicant must have considerable knowledge and understanding of how to use the JWS for both air-to-surface and surface-to-surface engagements, as well as the Digital Imagery Exploitation Engine (DIEE) for Collateral Damage Estimation (CDE), and Target Coordinate Mensuration (TCM) purposes.
  • Applicant must possess the skills necessary to analyze operations methods, which require substantial competence in the rigorous methods of scientific and mathematical inquiry and analysis.
  • Applicant must be also capable of preparing written reports/briefings indicating solutions or range of possible alternatives in rank of desirability and probability of success when there is no single solution and interfacing with customers to help define work processes.
  • Applicant must successfully complete a Government JWS Instructor Certification Board within 30-days of hire.

 

Required Experience:

A minimum of five years of experience related to JMEM air-to-surface and/or surface-to-surface weaponeering software is required. In addition, experience related to operational weaponeering, weapon systems effectiveness methodologies, target coordinate mensuration, and database maintenance are highly desirable. Recent experience as a military training instructor at a service targeting school or other related military course, and completion of a Joint Targeting School (JTS) accredited CDE course and a Target Mensuration Only (TMO) certification is also desirable.
