Junior Software Developer

Do you enjoy writing and maintaining Java code? If this is you join CACI to use your skills as a Junior Software Developer on the Sky Tracker Project!

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • You will work as a software developer on the exciting Counter UAS projects.
  • Your primary responsibilities will be to write and maintain the code that powers the current C-UAS systems.
  • You will code in Java, JavaScript (AngularJS) and Python. 
  • You will also assist with testing the systems. 
  • Some travel may be required to assist with customer integration and initial software support.

More About the Role:

  • SkyTracker is a counter-small unmanned aircraft systems (C-sUAS) capability solution comprised of different form factors designed to exploit the radio communication between small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) and their controller.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Code and ship new application features with high quality and well-structed code.
  • Java, JavaScript and Python code.
  • Unit Tests.
  • Utilize Linux systems for development and testing.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and fix issues in production and non-production environments.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance: Current TS/SCI Poly.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent a minimum of 7 years of related experience.  Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.


  • Recognized subject matter expert in software development.

Required Skills:

  • Full Stack Software Developer: Expert in your domain, and comfortable working at all layers: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web services, APIs, SQL & NoSQL storage, Testing, Infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Red Hat / CentOS Linux operating system.
  • Experience with deploying web applications to Tomcat Application Server.
  • Strong Java coding skills.
  • Experience with JavaScript.
  • Experience with AngularJS.
  • Experience with Python.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Puppet.
  • Linux shell scripting.
  • Experience with Spring.
  • Experience with ActiveMQ.

Desired Certifications: (If applicable)

  • Security+
