Joint Training System Specialist

The contractor will provide joint training support to assist USSOCOM in the implementation and execution of the Joint Training System. The contractor will assist in the assessment, design, development, implementation, and management of supported units' joint training and exercise programs, subordinate processes, and specialized command training programs. This work will support the integration, coordination, and standardization of special operations forces mission essential tasks and related conditions and standards at the HQ, Service Components, TSOC, and Unified Command level using the Joint Training Manual for Armed Forces of the United States as guidance.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and fifteen (15) years of experience in relevant area (joint training management, training program development, joint and combined arms operations, special operations core activities, etc.). Minimum three (3) years of experience as a JTIMS expert user.
Required skills include:
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational planning and executing combined and joint operations at the theater or force component level.
  • Expertise in advanced management and organizational skills.
  • An expert understanding of all facets of the Joint Training System.
  • Expertise in operational plans, contingency plans, crisis action planning. Expertise in oral and written communication
Must possess an active TS clearance to start with ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Essential Functions

Work Environment
Work will be performed in a cubical environment inside a large facility. Work assignments vary based on client requirements. Shift work position that could include night and weekend work on a recurring basis.
Physical Requirements
Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
Equipment and Machines
General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Work assignments dependent on requirements by the client. It is important to be able to work at least 8 hours a day for 5 days per week (Monday through Friday). Some CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required, dependent upon the needs of the client.
Other Essential Functions
Candidate must exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military and contractor personnel at all levels. Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Grooming and dress usually business casual, but dependent on client’s standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
