Joint Operations and Intelligence (O&I) Watchstander SME, #3851

Brief Description

LinQuest is seeking a Joint Operations and Intelligence (O&I) Watchstander SME to join our team at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs. LinQuest is hiring highly skilled and motivated candidates to join a high-performance team to establish and develop all things involving the US Space Command (USSPACECOM) J3 Division. Responsibilities:

  • Perform oversight of lifecycle for J3 Directed Actions to ensure implementations are completed in accordance with established timeframes
  • Ensure real time information exchange of operational, critical situations, and disaster preparedness to operational customer
  • Utilize internal systems to report incidents to leadership
  • Take escalations if any alerts/events are identified by monitoring analysts as significant and requiring action
  • Perform initial assessment and triage on the criticality and impact of events and engage the appropriate processes and personnel on and off site
  • Ensure key stakeholders are apprised of all details regarding an event or incident in order that the issue can be assigned the appropriate priority based on scope and impact
  • Provide support to the JOC and other external organizations through the use of problem resolution skills and independent decision making
  • Responsible for generating well-documented Critical Incident Reports for leadership
  • Establish and maintain interfaces with operations centers across the globe - CONUS and OCONUS
  • Record activities that occur in the JOC; log responsive actions or staff follow-on taskings
  • Prepare JOC to respond quickly to warfighter urgent needs
  • Work closely with Joint Operations Center team to prepare briefings and reports to USSPACECOM leadership
Requirements

 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher desired
  • Completion of JPME 1 is highly desired, and JPME II is preferred
  • USSPACECOM J33 is establishing sub-directorates and requires personnel with Command and control background in PNT, SATCOM, Space Control, Missile Warning and Space Situational Awareness with 10-20 years of experience
  • Previous experience at a CCMD operations center is highly desired, and previous experience at the National Military Command Center (NMCC), the Joint Staff, or at an Air Operations Center (AOC) is desired
  • Previous experience as a Watchstander is highly desired
  • Previous completion of mission specific qualification training with formal “mission qualified” certification
  • Desired 12 months of multi systems operations
  • Ability to communicate clearly using oral or written media
  • Understanding of military systems and the capabilities they provide
  • Skilled use of information production and reporting tools
  • Understanding of military security and OPSSEC responsibilities and requirements
  • Understanding of military exercises and the level of operational fidelity that they intend to simulate
  • Ability to identify and resolve challenges at a strategic level
  • Ability to brief/interact with senior (GO/FLAG) level officer and senior civilians
  • US Citizenship and active TS/SCI is required to be considered for this position

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Managing and performing activities within fixed ground or mobile command and control (C2) facilities such as installation and expeditionary command posts (CP), operations centers, rescue coordination centers, and Combatant Command and Major Command (COCOM/MAJCOM) command centers
  • Providing command, control, communications, and information support throughout the full spectrum of operations to include peacetime, emergency and disaster situations, crisis, contingency and war
  • Receiving and relaying C2 instructions and records; collects, processes, and submits manual and automated data products
  • Disseminating time-sensitive critical information to senior leaders and support agencies
  • Establishing procedures for operational reports and defense readiness reporting systems
  • Using communications systems and consoles to affect positive control of assigned forces and weapons systems
  • Ensures compliance with operations center and C2 Operations policies and procedures
