iReturn Hardware Engineer

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Hardware Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Rolling Meadows, IL location.


The qualified applicant will join a cohort of employees re-entering the workforce after a career break of at least two years. This cohort will receive special on-boarding designed to provide an effective re-entry into the workforce. iReturn provides experienced professionals with a 12-week "returnship" to prepare for a full-time career in one of several fields at Northrop Grumman through training, professional development and networking opportunities. Qualified applicants will join a cohort of employees returning to the workforce after a 2+ career break for this "returnship" program that focuses on giving you a seamless transition back into the workforce. This cohort program will approximately run fromAugust - December and prepare candidates for an effective re-entry into the workforce. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for full-time roles with the company.

Northrop Grumman offers challenging career opportunities in Hardware Engineering within the Mission Systems Sector that play a key role in the mission to protect our military personnel. The Hardware Engineering organization is dedicated to consistently providing high quality product designs in support of multiple product areas. The Design Data and Product Integrity Engineering (DDPIE) organization provides engineering support services for all programs at the Rolling Meadows campus including CCA Design Layout Technology, Configuration Management, Data Management, Drafting, Standards and Components, Product Follow, and Product Integrity Engineering

We have one opening and can be in hired in one of the following areas:


Standards and Components, PCB design or Mechanical Drafting.


The Standards and Components engineer will be responsible for electronic materials used within electronic and mechanical components including adhesives, encapsulants, plastics, metals, printed wiring board materials and surface finishes (e.g., paints, primers, platings, conversion coatings). Primary responsibilities include researching electronic components for application, supporting electronics packaging design efforts and design reviews, reviewing and approving engineering drawings, ensuring compliance to regulatory directives (e.g., REACh), addressing materials issues identified in Production, preparing Corrosion Prevention Control plans, conducting accelerated life tests, and qualification testing of materials.

The Printed Circuit Board Designer will support the development and design of ruggedized electronic equipment for military applications. The candidate will have the opportunity to be exposed to multiple skill sets within the PCB discipline such as: schematic capture, layout, design for manufacturing, signal integrity analysis, and library part creation. The individual will work within a team environment consisting not only of senior oversight, but also other functional disciplines such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and systems engineering.

The Mechanical Drafter will support the design and documentation of ruggedized electronic equipment for military applications. The candidate will have the opportunity to be exposed to multiple skill sets within the Mechanical Drafting discipline such as: CAD design, drawing creation, documentation updates, and library part creation. The individual will work within a team environment consisting not only of senior oversight, but also other functional disciplines such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and systems engineering.



MSRMM

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
- 4+ years professional experience and a current career break of at least two years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
