International Training Coordinator

Position Overview:

This position assists with the management, scheduling, and administration of high visibility international security cooperation programs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with identifying training requirements and schedules, and developing strategies for overseas training team missions within certain programs/funding types available (i.e. Department of State and Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement).

• Assist with planning, deploying, and executing missions, often on short notice to identify, plan, and coordinate international Military Education Trianing requiremnets for numerous partner nations.

• Provide significant international student management and manual data entry via tracking systems: Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS), Security Assistance Network (SANWeb).

• Liaise with U.S. Coast Guard regional training managers, government agencies (Department of State/Defense), and international entities (U.S. Embassies) to ensure training and regional objectives are met, funding documents and authorizations are provided, and detailed timelines for mission and student execution are established.

• Ensure overseas training missions are in compliance with government and host country requirements and complement other training types.

• Assist in the planning, coordination, execution and escort of foreign visitor delegations to USCG Headquarters, training centers, and operational units.

• Brief senior leadership and other departments on subject matter and program status. 

• Support maritime advisors in OCONUS positions by ensuring passports, travel orders, funding, preliminary briefings and associated trainings are provided and completed.

• Write detailed quarterly reports for various program elements for distribution to interagency and external offices.

• Assist in the development of interagency agreements between the USCG and Department of State.

• Manage funding sources ensuring appropriate and timely execution of funds for USCG mobile training team missions, and international student participation in USCG resident schools.

• Recommend training opportunities to partner nations for USCG implementation.

• Establish pipeline training programs for international students.

Requirements:

• U.S. Citizen

• Active Secret Clearance

• B.S. degree in International Relations, Business or a related field

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in government, international affairs, security cooperation programs or military preferred

• Knowledge of and familiarity with DoD Security Assistance Management Manual

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with other government agencies and foreign countries.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple requests simultaneously, adjust priorities quickly, and work on multiple deadlines.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, knowledge of DSAMS a plus

• Occasional travel – local/CONUS
