Major Duties and Responsibilities


Under the direction of the DS Special Agent, the IA support specialist provides vetting-related services.


  • Conducts screenings on various individuals with either access to Chief of Mission facilities or who are hired into a position that allows them knowledge of Chief of Mission operations.
  • Interviews walk-in sources, conducts liaisons, supports security/operational security/force protection programs and produces timely written reports and assessments.
  • Provides direct support to the Regional Security Office (RSO) as appropriate, which frees RSO assets for other duties.
  • Provides routine and recurring support to RSO IA and HUMINT activities from fixed and secure locations (defined facilities and properties).
  • RSO conducts activities such as debriefing of personnel, intelligence liaison with other U.S. Government and host country agencies, support to operational security awareness programs, IA/security assessments, screening of locally employed staff (LES screening), initial handling of walk-0in sources, IA support to force protection, intelligence report writing/quality control, and can support other operations within the scope of this statement of work.  Personnel will be equipped to travel to and operate from multiple fixed sites within an assigned area of operations and in accordance with RSO procedures but will not conduct intelligence activities outside of secure areas.
  • Provide administrative support related to specific areas of assignment.
  • Conduct screening with use of organizational reference documents, in accordance with RSO standard operating procedures (SOPs) and with appropriate Government oversight and must adhere to the standards and procedures set out by RSO.
  • Coordinate with and work in conjunction with base level force protection and strategic force protection operations.
  • Review the data collected and cross-reference intelligence collection priorities and plans, to ensure proper identification and categorization with screening SOPs and plan when necessary.
  • Take photographs and use other biometric collection systems as applicable, to gather additional identifying data on interviewed person for screening report.
  • Conduct other intelligence supporting activities related to intelligence support operations, with appropriate Government supervision and oversight.
  • Other Duties as assigned.



The Contactor shall provide personnel who have the necessary experience, education, training and skills to perform the work and manage the requirements included in the contract. Requirements include:


  • Four years’ experience as trained counterintelligence agent.  Such experienced may be gained through former service in the following Department of Defense Military Occupational Specialties or their civilian equivalents: 35L (Counterintelligence Agent), 35M (Human Intelligence Collector), 351L (Counterintelligence Technician), 351M (Human Intelligence Collection Technician) and /or Civilian Law Enforcement Intelligence Specialist 132 and Criminal Investigator 1811.
  • Knowledge of the Arabic language and culture is strongly desired.
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must have a TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Knowledge of host country culture, traditions, and customs is highly desirable
  • Experience working in high-threat environment and experience with U.S. Department of State security operations are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals or groups from various levels and backgrounds.
  • Must be in good physical condition with no health deficiencies, either temporary or long-lasting, that would impair performance of duties.
  • Must have experience with vetting, vetting tasks, and/or investigative questioning techniques and knowledgeable of SIPRNET search engines and database retrieval tools such as Query Tree and M3.
