Summary:

The IntelligenceAnalyst/Chinese Linguist will support the Air Force Office of Special Investigations(AFOSI) mission to provide professional investigative service to commanders ofall Air Force activities. AFOSI identifies, investigates and neutralizescriminal, terrorist, and espionage threats to Air Force and Department ofDefense (DoD) personnel and resources.

Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Detectand provide early warning of worldwide threats to the Air Force
  • Identifyand resolve crime impacting Air Force readiness or good order and discipline
  • Combatthreats to Air Force information systems and technologies
  • Defeatand deter fraud in the acquisition of Air Force prioritized weapons systems
  • Exploitthe Internet for threat information facing USAF assets worldwide
  • Utilizelanguage skills or use translation software to search for and identify threatsin webpages or documents written in a foreign language.
  • Translateor use offsite translation support to identify threats and translate web pagesor documents written in a foreign language.
  • Leverageexisting open-source collection efforts of other agencies and classifiedintelligence information resources.
  • UseAFOSI case information to conduct open-source research and analysis in supportof AFOSI CI and LE inquiries, investigations, and operations.
  • Usevisualizations and analytical software, such as Analyst’s Notebook, conduct link,and trend analysis to discover new information, corroborate existinginformation and predict future threats to USAF assets.
  • Participatein AFOSI operational activity, as required.
  • Usedata in AFCERT and 35 IS databases for correlations to open-source Internetinformation on threats to USAF networks.
  • Conductanalysis of threats to automated information systems, networks, and criticalinformation in support of AFNETOPS locations and Network Operations SecurityCenter locations.
    Provide routine input into AFNETOPS products from the CI perspective
  • Conductlink and trend analysis to predict Computer Network Attack (CNA) or ComputerNetwork Exploitation (CNE).
  • Adviseon network or system vulnerabilities and assess the threat of exploitation.
    Provide briefings on Information Warfare (IW) indications and warning andrecommend countermeasures
  • Coordinate,fuse and compile analytical products from numerous resources, to includevarious databases, to ensure a tailored counterintelligence product is providedto support the protection of critical research and technology.
  • Providereach-back capability and training as needed to subordinate units and customerson how to identify the Information Operations (IO) threat.
  • ProduceIntelligence Information Reports (IIRs), CI Notes and other reporting products;complete post-report process.
  • Produceand present intelligence briefings
  • Attendintelligence conferences and meetings that support AFOSI CI production efforts
  • Provideweekly and monthly inputs to activity reports.
  • Conductcollection and translation of open-source Internet information and provideanalysis and reporting of collection efforts that identify threats to UnitedStates Air Force (USAF) assets worldwide from foreign governments,international terrorists, and unaffiliated actors (for example, hackers andsubversive groups).
  • Conductopen-source research and analysis in support of AFOSI Counter Intelligence(CI), Counter-Terrorism (CT) and Law Enforcement (LE) inquiries,investigations, and operations worldwide to assist AFOSI field units with theirrespective casework. Analysts shall utilize the following sources and tools toguide research and analysis
  • Mayprovide intelligence analysis (i.e. IMINT, SIGINT, HUMINT, MASINT, orall-source and work directly with customers and team members to determineproject scope and specifications
  • Otherduties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully,an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Experience as a TDNA or in a related functional area
  • DLPT 2/2 required
  • TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly required

  • Ability to receive and maintain all customer required access, included but not limited to facilities and Information Systems

  • The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
