Intel Branch Assistant Manager

Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Assume duties of Intel Branch Manager in his absence and during 24 hour split shifts for exercise support.   Provide military intelligence analyst, research, and writing support for the Battle Command Training Center (BCTC) Collective Training Branch (CTB) training mission, in support of company to brigade Level III exercises.  Identifies, troubleshoot and coordinate the resolution of TACSIM JLCCTC software and hardware problems and issues.  Conduct, maintain, and supervise all Intel Branch classified security system audits and audit logs.  Ensure that all Tactical Simulation (TACSIM) and Warrior Simulation (WARSIM) system administrators are maintaining their data bases and systems as per DOD and special security requirements.  Enforce all Information Assurance (IA) policies, guidance, and training required as per Department of the Army (DA) and Department of Defense, for the Intelligence Branch information systems security.  Supervise and ensure that 100% of all information systems software and hardware are constantly monitored, certified, accredited and reaccredited.  Provide day to day Special Compartmented Information (SCI) oversight on all assigned Intel Branch personnel, documentation, software, hardware, and the Intel Branch Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).  Maintain TOP SECRET SCI security clearance and monitor and validate clearances for all assigned Intelligence Branch personnel and visitors as required.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 30% - As the Intelligence Branch Special Security Representative (SSR), enforce and provide 100% day to day SCI security oversight on all assigned Intelligence Branch personnel, documentation, software, hardware, and the SCIF security systems to address, update, correct and prevent issues and problems with operational systems, exercise data bases or system hardware.  Prepare and maintain the Intelligence Branch SCIF for all XVIII ABN Corps, FORSCOM, and DIA Special Security Inspections as necessary.
  • 10% - Coordinate and liaison with the National Simulation Center (NSC) TACSIM Project Engineer, and System developer to setup, configure, troubleshoot, and conduct database and system testing and evaluations for TACSIM support during pre-exercise, exercise, and after actions for Corps Battle Simulation (CBS), Joint Conflict (JCATS), and TACSIM exercise support.
  • 10% - Build, test performance, monitor and troubleshoot the TACSIM and WARSIM databases to ensure that the appropriate equipments, radios, radars, and intelligence collection platforms are build to support the customer’s exercise requirements.         
  • 20% - Provide military intelligence analyst, research, and writing support for the BCTC CTB training mission, in support of company to brigade units Level III exercises. 100% of the reports are written to be like “Real World Reports messages”, which are tailored and timed to provide maximum effective training stimulation and support in preparation for the respective unit’s deployment. Data base injects and messages support is tailored to fit the type of unit/s being supported.        
  • 30% - As the Intel Branch classified Information Assurance Manager (IAM), ensure 100% enforcement of all Information Assurance (IA) policies, guidance, and the training required, as per Department of the Army (DA) and Department of Defense, for the TACSIM and WARSIM systems. Ensure that all information systems software and hardware are constantly monitored, certified, accredited and reaccredited with all documentation kept up to date.  Establish, conduct, and maintain audit events and audit logs for all TACSIM and WARSIM information systems within the Intel Branch SCIF to ensure that minimum DCID 6/3 audit event requirements are met and audits are archived.  Ensured that orders were published, signed and provided to assigned personnel to classified support duties such as system administrators as necessary.   Successfully prepared and maintained all Intelligence Branch classified IAM systems for XVIII ABN Corps, FORSCOM, and DIA/DA annual inspections.
