Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Instrumentation and Controls Engineer at ARFL, Edwards, AFB, CA.

ASRC Federal Space and Defense, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, brings a 14-year history of delivering high-performance space systems engineering, integration and satellite operations services to civil and defense agencies. ASRC Federal Space and Defense provides these services throughout all phases of the program life cycle and across the entire space systems architecture, including space and ground assets.

Support Quality control efforts at Test Stand 2A and other work locations as required. Will be required to maintain all support plans from Quality, Safety, Environmental and preventative maintenance. Ensure all required documents are coordinated and distributed to Configuration Management.

Skills:

Must be able to work with test crews and review plans and program and perform data analysis needs and assist in configuation.

Will conducts tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Will perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Must use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Must ensure there is standardization among test areas supported.

Will work with a team or alone to determine causes of operating errors and provide solutions.

Able to adapt to change. In a test environment, the atmosphere requires being open to change, to consider all possibilities in the test set-up and talk through options.

Must have active listening skills.

Must be familiar with Pacific Systems or other similar systems.

Must be able to gain access to the customer's computer networks.

Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in mechanical engineering or other relevant engineering degree.
  • Experience with MS Office and database/data entry computer experience.
  • Experience in low level signal processing, transducer signal conditioning, active filters, analog to digital conversion, digital signal processing, programmable logic, microprocessors, and programming in "C," "C++," Visual Basic, LabVIEW, Microsoft Windows, DOS and UNIX.
  • Must be able to work at heights and below grade.
  • Able to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to work in extreme cold and heat.

Demonstrated ability in:

  • Technical Writing ability
  • Microsoft Project
  • Demonstrated increase in experience and abilities.
  • Strong background in Safe approach to tasks.
  • Valid state vehicle operator's license.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a final security clearance at the SECRET level.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Work overtime with little notification.
