TheInstructional System Designer (ISD) I will coordinate with a team of other ISDs to review and validate trainingmaterials in support of technical subject matter.

Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Work to validate and QA Instructor-led and Computer-Basedinstructional material before being delivered to the training facilities forinstruction
  • Perform validations on Instructor-led and Computer-Basedinstructional material
  • Coordinate with ISDs and MPAs to assist in troubleshooting effortsas required for course validation issues
  • Work with subject matter experts (SME) to identify training needs
  • Participate in team brainstorming and strategy meetings to definetraining objectives
  • Otherduties as assigned

MinimumQualifications: (Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)

  • High school diploma/GED or higherrequired
  • Formal training in instructionalmethodology and adult learning gained from military training schools and/orcollege education
    • Militaryexperience and education may substitute for formal college education
  • 1+ years of relevant experience inInstructional Systems Design
  • DoD Secret Security clearance

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:

  • Demonstrate effective needs analysis, course design, coursedevelopment, quality management, evaluation and project management skills.
  • Strongwritten and verbal English grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage andpronunciation
  • Knowledgeand application of adult learning principles and instructional design models
  • Provenworking experience in instructional design and with instructionaltechnology
  • Abilityto effectively review instructional text, and audio scripts/video scripts
  • MicrosoftWord: basic text formatting functions, tables, bullets and numbering, hangingindents, inserting graphics, tracking changes, accepting comments and changes
  • MicrosoftPowerPoint:
    • Basictext formatting, tables, master layouts, text and title placeholders, enteringslide notes
    • Abilityto use graphic design features to create screen layouts
  • MicrosoftOutlook email and calendaring:
    • Send,receive, and file email
    • Createand accept calendar appointments and invitations
  • Abilityto maintain and access files in an organized fashion on both local hard drive andnetwork drive
  • Abilityto travel

  • The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
