Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking anInspector 1to provide talent to ourDefense Electronics Systems (DES)group inNorthridge, CA.

Responsibilities:

Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electro-mechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds/hardware.

Uses various measuring devices.

Accepts or rejects defective or malfunctioning units or systems.

Works from blueprints, parts lists, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings, assembly and inspection instructions and checklists.

May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

May perform line clearances to ensure all non-conforming materials have been removed from the production area.May verify equipment calibration status/validity.

Basic Qualifications:

Able to speak, read and write in English. Some familiarity with manufacturing environment. High School Diploma and 1-2 years additional education and/or experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

Interim/Full Secret Clearance. Certified in J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620. TipQA Experience. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Familiar with Costpoint MRP system.


Familiar with soldering and soldering workmanship acceptance standards. Basic understanding of quality systems in a manufacturing environment. Familiar with non-conformance handling procedures. High School and 2 years additional education and/or experience.
