Information Technology Support (Engineer Technician 3)

This position provides support to the 96th Cyberspace Test Group, Test Group Support (96 CTG/TGS) at Eglin AFB. This position requires a wide variety of Information Technology cybersecurity experience to implement Air Force Instruction 33-200 Information Assurance Management cybersecurity functions for the 96 CTG Eglin AFB FL Information Technology support function. This support includes the following: 

  • Assists with the implementation and enforcement of all Air Force cybersecurity policies and procedures using Air Force guidance.
  • Performs Information Technology Equipment Custodian (ITEC) functions for hardware (AFMAN 33-153 IT Asset Management), and Client Support Technician (CST) with privileged user access for Information System control, monitoring, and administrative functions.
  • Performs basic IT property management; cybersecurity incident monitoring and response; hardware and software configuration management; testing, troubleshooting and applying corrections to information systems; and software upgrades.
  • Responds to customer service requests and maintenance support.
  • Moves office equipment in accordance with DOD lift guidelines.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • This position requires an Associate’s Degree and 3-10 years of applicable experience. Six years of applicable technical experience may be substituted for the BS Degree requirement or four years of experience with an applicable Associates Degree.
  • Must possess a Secret clearance; must be capable to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Must possess DOD Instruction (DODI) 8570.01M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification or higher.
  • Must be knowledgeable in troubleshooting Windows 10 Standard Desktop workstations.
  • Experience in Air Force, DOD or corporate IT Technician customer support or equipment management functions desired.
  • Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment with changing priorities to meet the organizational mission requirements.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to direct the work of others.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including communication skills in areas of technical writing.
  • Candidate must be qualified and able to travel to worldwide sites as required.
