Raytheon IIS is looking for an individual to join the Cyber Security Engineering team for a Cyber Security position in Information Assurance supporting the development and maintenance of custom solutions on the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) program.

This position is located in Aurora, Colorado. Infrequent travel to Suitland, Maryland may be needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meeting with subject matter experts to assess IA, hardware and software solutions
  • Assisting the team with infrastructure design tasks
  • Providing inputs to design review presentation packages
  • Providing inputs to task schedules
  • Documenting and following processes
  • Assist with environmental use schedules with Raytheon, Government and external organizations

Clearance Requirement: Must be a U.S. CITIZEN with ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Required Experience, Knowledge and/or Skills:
  • Bachelor degree and 2 years of engineering experience or a master degree
  • Strong interest in Cyber Security/Information Assurance
  • Understanding system level requirements
  • Must have hands-on technical experience as an individual contributor with documentation skills and experience in some of the following areas:
    • Linux system administration
    • Windows system administration
    • Network component administration
    • VMware administration
    • Operating system hardening
  • Demonstrated success focusing and delivering on the needs of customers
  • Professional experience with Government customers and programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to manage multiple, unrelated tasks in an organized manner with attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess sufficient professional competence to operate independently within a broad scope of authority, with some supervision
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Desired Experience, Knowledge and/or Skills:
  • Experience with satellite ground station control systems’ program procedures and processes
  • Experience with highly matrixed organizations
  • Ability to establish tasks and objectives with Lead Engineers and ensure the entire team understands and can work towards the vision and objectives
  • Previous experience in Verification, Validation and Accreditation
  • Experience in proactively analyzing and resolving problems relating to operational considerations, engineering drawings and associated hardware in relation to repair activities
  • Existing DoD 8570.01-compliant security certification is preferred, but must be able to earn one within 6 months (e.g. Security+CE, SSCP, CISSP, etc.; CISSP preferred)

Education Requirements:
B.S./B.A. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or a science or Master degree
