Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join the ES&H Research and Development Team. This Industrial Hygiene position develops, recommends and implements programs, policies, and procedures associated with the recognition, measurement, evaluation, and control of chemical, physical, and biological health hazards. This position requires an understanding and application of industrial hygiene principles, theories, and concepts at a level capable of developing new concepts and techniques. This position manages technically complex activities and projects and routinely functions as a technical resource to coordinate the activities of other staff. Serve as the company Biological Safety Officer (BSO). This position provides technical direction and supervision to junior staff through mentoring and training. Work is performed with considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches of assignment.

Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education and/or Experience):
BS in Industrial Hygiene or related degree accepted by the ABIH and 5 years’ experience or MS in Industrial Hygiene or related degree accepted by the ABIH and 3 years’ experience or PhD in Industrial Hygiene or related degree accepted by the ABIH and 2 years’ experience.

Special Requirements and/or Training:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
Selective Service Requirements
To be eligible for employment at INL males between ages 18 and 25 must register (or must have registered) with the Selective Service System (SSS). Certification Exam(s): Respirator user; Testing Designated Position (TDP).
