Hypersonics Operations Research Simulation Developer and Analyst

The Operations Analysis Department within System Engineering’s Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Center (MSA) has the responsibility to provide and maintain performance and Operations Research simulations for all Raytheon Missiles Systems (RMS) products; support new business initiatives; and support the development and execution of technology roadmaps. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: team development; concept of operations; mission planning; weapon deployment analysis and use of high fidelity performance simulations.

Job Description:
This position is for a senior member of the Operations Research and Analysis Team. Tasking will include the need to prepare and perform effectiveness, survivability and operational utility analyses in the area of hypersonic systems and advanced-concept weapon systems using Operations Research tools and mathematical methods. Assist in the preparation of detailed plans, including task objectives and expected output for projects. Conduct simulation activities to support weapon system performance trades, cost effectiveness, survivability evaluations and competitive assessments. Meet assigned task deadlines and milestones within budget. Interface with internal and external customers. Provide technical solutions that are imaginative, thorough, and practicable.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead and conduct strategic planning studies and analyses for hypersonic systems.
  • Lead activities in the support of corporate wide activities. Develop Concepts of Operations and other requirements for hypersonic and advanced weapon systems, both kinetic and non-kinetic.
  • Interface with Government organizations to define operational doctrine.
  • Support trade studies, effectiveness/survivability evaluations, and comparative assessments. Assess tactical utility of weapon systems.
  • Act as project or team leader with responsibility to meet project schedule and budget. Participate in technical meetings.
  • Train and mentor less experienced staff in Operations Analysis/Operations Research methodologies; data analysis and systems engineer.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:
  • BS degree in Operations Research, Applied Math, Industrial Engineering, or related Engineering fields
  • Eight (8) years’ experience in modeling, simulation and analyses with emphasis on hypersonic systems using Operations Research techniques and advanced mathematical methods.
  • Candidate must have good analysis and problem solving skills with experience in conducting studies using Applied Math and Operations Research methods including but not limited to regression analysis, math programming (e.g., optimization), stochastic models and simulation studies.
  • Must have an existing DoD issued Secret Security clearance

Desired Education, Experience and Skills:
  • Experience using simulations or serious games for performance analysis
  • Experience with mathematical tools such as MATLAB and MathCad.
  • Experience programming in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with the Military Operations Research community
  • Understanding of DoD acquisition systems.
  • Experience with strategic management
  • Current or Past Top Secret Clearance a plus
  • MS degree in Operations Research or related field
