High Performance/Advance Computing Systems Scientist

The Challenge:

What if you could use your engineering skills to transform the governments understanding of Advanced Computing Systems, High Performance Computing, and parallel processing? As an electrical engineer/computer engineer, you understand the power behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to developing models and simulations for parallel computing architectures that take the US into the future. We’re looking for an electrical/computer engineer who can use their skills to improve the knowledge of advanced computing systems, develop models and simulations for computing architectures, and support the development of novel prototype parallel computing systems.

Our team performs research into the development of High-Performance Computing (HPC) architectures which support the advanced computing needs of the DoD and other government agencies. That’s why we need you, an experienced electrical and computer engineer, with a solid background in parallel computing architectures specializing in memory, central processing unit, and power optimization to help us design and develop novel computing systems to meet the challenges of an increasingly complex data analytics landscape. You’ll perform tasks related to the development of models that will improve or develop new simulations for advanced computing systems and support the development of architectures which can support the increasing data intensive applications. You’ll directly impact the intelligence community and the DoD by advancing the scientific knowledge and transfer of this knowledge to an industry which can develop and maintain the systems which are needed by the government. We’ll look to you to share your electrical/computer engineering expertise through leadership and mentoring junior staff. This is a chance to use your experience-based knowledge in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), multicore Central Processing Units (CPU), Graphics Processing Units (GPU), and advanced memory architectures while broadening your skillset into areas like modeling and simulation and High Performance Data Analytics (HPDA). You Have:

-10 years of experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) or Parallel Computing Systems

-Experience in parallel programming on Linux-based systems and with Python, C/UPC, GASNet, and SHMEM

-Experience in academic research and collaboration and publishing reports and peer-reviewed academic papers

-Knowledge of Graph 500 big graph analytics benchmarks, multi-threaded graph analysis app development, and multi-dimensional data analytics, including tensor analytics

-Ability to perform design studies, evaluations, and government benchmarks across a broad range of HPC systems and programming environments

-Ability to conduct in-depth design studies, evaluations, and benchmark testing on both existing and new HPC systems and architectures

-Ability to provide technical support to researchers as they develop and demonstrate applications on a variety of ACS computing platforms and architectures

-Ability to participate in government and academic design and research of future high-performance computing and design and support the development of FPGAs

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph required

-BS degree in Computer Engineering or EE

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with Parallel Computing architectures, software, and modeling and simulation.

-Experience with Structural Simulation Toolkit (SST)

-Experience with SystemC

-MS degree in Computer Engineering or EE
