Help Desk Systems and Security Administrator

Key Role:

Provide technical support for a variety of system, software, and hardware issues for clients of a Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) network. Work with a team of system administrators, network administrators, database administrators, and help desk agents to ensure system stability, security, and compliance. Monitor all infrastructure hardware using vulnerability assessment tools, including ACAS and HBSS, work with the NOC team to address and correct all findings, and document compliance with STIGs and IAVMs. Add and maintain user accounts, security groups, and distribution groups in Active Directory and build and configure Windows-based workstations. Support A&A and C&A packages and its maintenance and upkeep using the RMF frameworks, evaluate and mitigate security vulnerabilities, respond to security incidents, and produce various reports and compliance metrics.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with working in an IT environment

-Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and identifying and documenting security deficiencies

-Experience with DoD security tools, including performing Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scans

-Experience with building Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages

-Experience with supporting and drafting system Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) documentation, including processes and procedures and working with the Enterprise Management Assurance Support Service (eMASS)

-Knowledge of the Host-Based Security System (HBSS)

-Knowledge of Information Assurance Vulnerability Management, including IAVA and IAVB compliance and reporting and the Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) application

-Ability to work independently and as part of a team

-Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Windows Group Policy and Windows Registry a plus

-Ability to create or contribute to technical documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

-Ability to be customer service-oriented

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BS degree in Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or an IT-related field

-Security+ Certification within 3 months of hire
