Hardware Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL)

Job Description:

The Raytheon SAS Advanced Concepts and Technology (ACT) Mission Area seeks an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead to be responsible for leadership in the areas of new pursuits and proposals, requirements development, design concept development, trade studies, and hardware design and documentation. The position will reside in the SAS Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) within the RF & SMA Mechanical Department.

Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) job requirements include the setting of strategy, vision, and tactical direction for program execution by multifunctional team(s) and sub-contractors. The IPTL acts as the primary team point of contact and is responsible for meeting all contractual commitments using established standards and approved business models and management tools. The IPTL maintains an executable baseline and manages the program risks and opportunities in accordance with specific financial goals and obligations. The IPTL sets milestones and monitors adherence to IPT master plans and schedules. The IPTL develops customer and program enhancing partnerships with internal functional organizations such as contracts, finance, procurement, manufacturing, quality control, logistics, and administrative functions. The IPTL acts as customer contact on status and performance and anticipates and fulfills customer needs to ensure their satisfaction and continued business. The IPTL focuses, evaluates, motivates and rewards the team; enabling them to achieve desired results.

Job Related Activities:
  • Lead and own various ACT Integrated Product Teams
  • Actively work with ACT Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Customers to develop and manage objectives and requirements for related pursuits and projects.
  • Lead the management of subcontractors required for the development of ACT hardware.

Required Skills:
  • 10+ years of professional related working experience
  • Experience in HW development, Factory Production, Delivery, and Sustainment
  • Successful and proven IPTL experience collaborating with multi-functional, cross discipline teams on projects, working groups, and inter business unit collaborative efforts
  • Direct customer interface experience as program manager or IPTL
  • Experience leading highly technical teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to communicate program status, issues and resolution plans across all major stakeholders including Raytheon senior management, Customers and major subcontractors
  • Prior leadership experience leading technical teams such as an IPTL or CAM, leading across Cross-Functional teams
  • Experience compiling and briefing program status to management and customers
  • Experience interfacing with senior leadership to provide strategy, status, and reporting on program efforts
  • Experience with business and project management tools and procedures (e.g. IPDS, EVMS, IMS/IMP, Risk Management, Financial Forecasts and EAC)
  • Earned Value (EVMS) experience, qualification and certification
  • Must be highly organized and be an effective leader, communicator, decision maker and able to inspire teams to meet targets
  • Demonstrated skill in being able to understand technical details in addition to cost, schedule, and performance metrics
  • Experience in the design and deployment of military electronics.
  • Ability to lead and manage a multi-discipline design team to successfully execute tasks and deliver high quality work products.
  • Experience in leading proposal efforts.
  • Experience in presenting in gate reviews.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience managing a dispersed team with members at multiple different geographical locations
  • Experience negotiating with internal and/or external suppliers
  • Experience with RF electronics design
  • PM level certifications

Required Education:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, and minimum 10 years of related experience

Desired Education:
Advanced degree in a related field 135224
