Hardware Engineer - Various Levels

The SENSOR team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Hardware Engineer based out of Colorado Springs.
What You'll get to Do:
Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector is seeking Hardware Engineering applicants with experience in formal engineering life-cycle processes to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Colorado Springs, Colorado location to meet challenging issues confronting national security. Successful candidates will provide support for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's System Engineering and Sustainment Integrator (SENSOR) contract.
The Hardware Engineer will:
  • Work closely with the SENSOR Chief Engineer/Engineers and be responsible for maintaining smooth operations of the SENSOR Space Situational Awareness (SSA) hardware infrastructure as well as the IT infrastructure that supports software development.
  • Conduct hardware and network infrastructure performance analysis and kernel tuning as required.
  • Perform essential deployment engineering tasks to include site surveys, installation, configuration management, documentation, commissioning, and upgrade/patch management.
  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware, software and supporting IT gear for the SENSOR platforms.
  • Perform engineering analysis and make recommendations for hardware design for SENSOR system components and sub-components.
Qualified individuals must be flexible, self-motivated, hardworking and capable of working on a fast-paced program, as it moves through the system lifecycle phases of development, testing and delivery.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtainDepartment of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance
  • 5 years of Hardware Engineering experience witha Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline; 3 years with Masters; 0 years with PhD
  • Experience with computer system rack designs and associated standards, technical specifications, and requirements such as noise, harmonics, rack tipping safety, power requirements, cabling, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), HVAC/Cooling, for various form factors
  • Ability to conduct trade studies and make purchase recommendations for hardware, software and supporting IT components
  • Technical documentation and analysis experience
  • Travel Up to 10%
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Experience working with optical, radar, or radio frequency (RF) systems
  • Experience deploying equipment in the field
  • Ability to conduct essential deployment tasks to include site surveys, installations, configuration management, technical documentation, commissioning, and upgrade/patch management for hardware firmware
  • Camera design and form factors, such as Camera Link (C Link), fiber form factors, power supplies, etc.
  • Video processing experience
  • Logistics process experience for asset management, Functional Configuration Audit (FCA)/Physical Configuration Audit (PCA), and human safety factors
  • Experience recording configuration changes in Technical Data Package (TDP) artifacts
  • Experience with requirements tracking systems (i.e. IBM DOORS)
  • Strong proposal estimation, basis of estimate analytics, and technical methodologies and process engineering
