Hardware Engineer

Job Description

Job Description: Primary Purpose:  Under general supervision, design and test new integrated circuits and hardware components for a wide variety of signal processing applications and research.Duties and Responsibilities:Design, document, and develop code (including Firmware) for digital signal processors or other programmable hardware devices such as ASIC and FPGA hardware. Analyzes the function of existing integrated circuits and hardware components Assist with designing new products and processes, and improving and maintaining existing products Apply ASIC or FPPGA place and route tools with various libraries to create physical implementations of designs Assist with de-processing electronic components and retrieving stored firmware or software using approved reverse engineering procedures Integrate new place and route tools, Place and route tool updates, and ASIC or FPGA design libraries into computer aided design environment Work with tool and library vendors to develop solutions for designers place and route challenges Provide technical leadership Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures Perform other duties as required If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level to perform the jobMinimum Qualifications: Skills and Knowledge:Three (3) years of experience as a HDE in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design or reverse engineering of the same is required. TS/SCI with Poly Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as requiredMinimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university or 2-4 related experience or a combination of Five (5) years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree and related experience.
