Hardware Engineer - Disposal

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Hardware Engineer based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

What You'll get to Do:

Responsible for research and/or product development in system security engineering. Analyzes engineering specifications and drawings; confers with quality, material, manufacturing and subcontractors to provide and obtain technical information; and reviews production schedules and orders. Examines, measures, inspects or tests defective parts for conformance. Evaluates findings to formulate corrective actions. Plans and carries out security measure to monitor and protect sensitive data and systems. Implements and monitors security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information. Implements security engineering systems with requirements of business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, internal counter-espionage (insider threat detection and mitigation), physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management). Assesses and mitigates system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle. Validates system security requirements definition and analysis. Implements security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures. Supports secure systems operations and maintenance. THIS IS NOT A CYBERSECURITY POSITION.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability: General frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.

Problem Solving: Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

Discretion/Latitude: Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Works under general supervision. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Impact: Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.

Liaison: Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

2 years with Bachelors, or 5 years similar experience in lieu of a degree; 0 years with Masters

Active Secret-level Security Clearance

Demonstrate strong people, organizational, presentation and communication skills, written and verbal

Ability to work independently with multi-disciplined teams within the program

Ability to travel between 10 and 25% of the year

Preferred Qualifications:

Security + certification or equivalent security relevant certifications

Familiarity with remanence security regulations and handling physical and digital media

Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical manuals, and the use thereof for operating, maintaining and troubleshooting of equipment
