Hardware Engineer

Job Description
The Level 1 Hardware Engineer shall be able to perform the indicated Level 0 tasks plus the following indicated tasks:
- Conducts site surveys; assesses and documents current site network configuration and site-unique requirements
- Recommends specifications for hardware acquisitions
- Prepares engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages
- Develops hardware installation schedules based upon set-up, integration, and test timelines
- Prepares drawings documenting as-built configurations at each site
- Prepares site installation and test reports
- Configures computers, communications devices and peripheral equipment
- Trains site personnel in proper use of hardware
- Prepares installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides

Requirements
  • Seven (7( years experience analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions is required. Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional hardware engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Five (5) Years Domain Experience:
    • Computer Network Operations: Virtual computing and thin client
    • Information Assurance: Digital Signal Processing and Field Programmable Gate Array design and implementation. COMSEC.
    • SIGINT: Understanding of RF: HF, VHF, UHF, VLF, SHF SIGINT systems. Joint program collection platforms and dataflow architectures; signals characterization analysis; ClanSig collection platforms and architectures. Overhead. VSAT communications including data encryption devices and WAN interfaces.
    • Other: ELINT. Software Defined Radio (SDR), Airborne, EMI/RFI, Tempest; geolocation. Radio Direction Finding, Angle of Arrival Estimation, and Time & Frequency Difference of Arrival (T/FDOA) precision geo-location. Linux system, UHF/VHF DF collection systems, shall scripting, XML. FAA Class 3 physical and aerospace physiology and training requirements.

This position requires an active Security Clearance.

Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph. Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
