SAIC the sole
provider of the Remote Sensing (RS) Systems Engineering & Integration
(SE&I) team in El Segundo, CA has an imminent need for a Ground Integration
Systems Engineer with experience in Department of Defense (DoD) space-based
systems. Candidate will provide SE&I ground integration support to the
Environmental Monitoring (EM) and OPIR Enterprise programs in support of the
Space and Missile Systems Center Remote Sensing Directorate (SMC/RS).
Candidate will primarily support documentation and management of space and
ground interfaces for SMC/RS EM systems. Candidate should have experience
with system acquisition, systems engineering lifecycle, and architecture, ops
concept, requirements and interface development and maturation for space and
ground systems (especially at SMC). Major duties of the position include:
- Providing architecture, operations concept,
requirements and interface control documentation support for space and
ground systems from early acquisition through operations and sustainment.
- Leading interface trade studies in collaboration with
development, operations, and sustainment stakeholders to evaluate and
optimize interfaces in support of operational requirements.
- Evaluating contractor architectures, operations concepts,
specifications and interface products for completeness and
suitability.
- Analyzing proposed changes to existing architectural,
requirement and interface control documentation under configuration
control by SMC/RS.
- Managing interdependencies, identifying disconnects
between current and future architectures, requirements and interfaces,
conducting system trades to resolve interface issues
- Analyzing new and existing acquisition programs to
identify and manage procurement and production of architectural products
needed to support cybersecurity and system protection assessments.
- Supporting the customer in defining, capturing, and
maintaining the technical, schedule, and cost risks throughout the system
lifecycle and developing risk mitigation courses of action and assessing
impacts of risks and proposed changes.
- Collaborating with prime contractors, other team
contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Science or Engineering.
- Current Top Secret Clearance
- 9+ Years of demonstrated system engineering experience
with space, ground, operations and sustainment of DoD space programs with
a proven delivery record.
- Demonstrated experience working with Air Force/DoD
customers in an acquisition environment, with space and/or ground systems
(especially at SMC).
- Experience with ground system requirements and
interface management, risk management, change boards and change board
environment.
- Experience providing technical analyses, architecture
trade-studies, and program management support to a government customer.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to enable working,
interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams.
