Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Developer

Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) Capabilities and Technologies (C&T) group leads interdisciplinary applied research and development (R&D) for all of IIS. The Science and Technology (S&T) group within C&T has a primary focus on developing and maturing new capabilities with the goal of transitioning to operations.

Raytheon is looking to fill a senior Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) developer position to work in a fast tempo, complex mission environment at Ft. Gordon, GA. This “off site” position will report to the Science and Technology (S&T) group primarily based in Richardson, TX and Dulles, VA. The candidate will be responsible for developing and transitioning new capabilities to meet mission needs. The candidate will work closely with the broad base of factory developers to expedite the transition of new capabilities. The candidate should be capable of collaborating across Raytheon and customers and be skilled in writing and presenting technical concepts leveraging GEOINT sources to solve mission problems. This position requires extensive technical experience and a strong background in physics, mathematics, or engineering as it applies to GEOINT remote sensing phenomenology.

- 8 years of research and development experience in passive EO/IR sensing (to include multi- and hyperspectral imaging), active sensing such as LiDAR and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), atmospheric modeling and radiometry, 3D modeling from remotely sensed data, and error uncertainty propagation
- Experience supporting the technical writing and subsequent development of new concepts for solving mission problems using advanced exploitation, multi-sensor data fusion, and automated information extraction from single or multi-phenomenology GEOINT
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong background in Physics, Mathematics, Optics, Electro-Optical Sensors, Error Modeling, and Data Fusion
- Strong algorithm development skills in prototyping languages such as ENVI/IDL, Matlab, or lower languages such as C/C++
- Existing TSSCI with CI Poly clearance required

Desired Skills:
- Directly applicable experience and familiarity with advanced GEOINT processing related to current customer mission sets

Required Education (including Major):

- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), Physics, Remote Sensing, or Image Science with a minimum of 8 years of experience. Advanced degree preferred.
