The Challenge:

With the exponential growth of location-enabled data, the need for and potential uses of geospatial data are exploding.  Finding the data, enhancing the data, and partnering with stakeholders to make the data available enables a wide range of techniques, models, analysis.  If you are passionate about these developments, then we have an opportunity for you to use your geospatial skills.

As a Booz Allen geospatial and data analyst, you’ll be working with a team of analysts, domain experts, and data managers. Using tools like ArcGIS, Google Earth, and others, you’ll build partnerships, find and enable data, and help find the patterns to answer our client’s needs. You’ll develop your skills as you use Python, R, and other scripts to work with shapefiles, geodatabase, and Web Map Services (WMS) and Web Feature Services (WFS). This data enables the creation of various visualizations to make sure our clients and their stakeholders have the timely information they need. We focus on growing as a team, so we’ll share techniques, work through challenges, and develop workflows. You Have:

-Experience with using geospatial software tools, including ESRI ArcGIS and Google Earth and geospatial data

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook

-Ability to access and categorize multiple sources of data , including real-time or dynamic, imagery, light detection and ranging (LIDAR), and open source for use by the community

-Ability to comprehend an organization's mission and requirements and develop innovative products to support their mission

-Ability to give presentations and explain geospatial tools and data requirements to stakeholders

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Nice If You Have:

-Ability to work independently and accomplish goals/tasks with minimal assistance

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Secret clearance
