Geographic Science Instructor/Trainer

Key Role:

Deliver in-resident and distance learning instructional programs in accordance with course requirements. Use instructional methods, including guided discussions, lectures, demonstrations, small group exercises, seminars, workshops, and laboratories. Employ instructional technology in instruction and training, including Blackboard. Conduct assessment strategies in accordance with the course design, including instructor observation, testing, grading, and providing formal and informal student feedback. Provide subject matter expertise throughout the curriculum creation process, including content review and feedback to development staff. Teach instructional courses and apply experience with developing and delivering technical training and educational courses in academic, commercial, government, or industrial organizations. Leverage experience with GEOINT sciences, technology, and data science.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience as an instructor and trainer in GEOINT and one of the following areas: Cartography, Foundation GEOINT Officer, Human Geography, Human Geography Linguist Training, Activity-Based Intelligence (ABI), Forensic Network Analysis, Applied Human Geography, Introduction to GEOINT, Fundamentals of Geospatial Analysis, Temporal Data Analysis and Visualization, or Fundamentals of Full Motion Video Exploitation

-Experience in a government operating environment in the IC, DoD, NGA, NSG, and ASG

-Knowledge of GEOINT tradecraft and learning

-Knowledge of the application of GIS and analysis of geospatial data to solve intelligence problems that may face the DoD or the intelligence community

-Knowledge of the principles and applications of imagery interpretation, digital image processing systems, collections, and sensor phenomenology ​

-Ability to travel up to 50%

-TS/SCI clearance required; willingness to take a polygraph exam
-BA or BS degree and 4 years of experience with instruction or 20+ years of experience with instruction in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience as an in-resident and distance learning instructor for a USG agency

-MA or MS degree in Science or a related technical field

-Course Instruction or Teaching Certification
