Full Stack Software Product Owner (Up to 25% Profit Sharing Benefit!)

We are seeking a passionate Agile Product Owner. In this role, you will drive and communicate the vision of the core GeoFusebox Application server and MIST client development teams. This vision is part of a comprehensive strategy involving many stakeholders throughout the FADE ecosystem, including operational users, customer representatives, funding sources, systems and software engineers, and test / deployment engineers. Through this vision, you will collaborate with Scrum Masters and stakeholders to execute the vision, driving regular releases of the MIST client software, and the core GeoFusebox application server. You are empowered to drive the vision, and institute processes and procedures to enhance the productivity and creativity of your teams, while delivering high-quality software products consistent with the reputation of the FADE development organization.

This role includes the responsibilities of an Agile Product Owner, as well as a formal Manager within the CACI organization. You will manage a team of twelve to fifteen engineers, providing guidance and feedback to your team. The FADE team is composed of exceptionally bright and talented engineers, who form exceptionally productive, tight-knit and cohesive development teams. Successful candidates bring a balance of leadership, communications, and technical saavy to the organization, and are able to share in the organization’s vision and drive.

What You’ll Get to Do:  
  • Communicate with key external stakeholders, including end users, customer representatives, funding sources to derive development priorities
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders, balancing the need for new growth with an emphasis on continued quality and scheduled deliveries
  • Create and execute plans for quarterly development cycles
  • Collaborate closely with Scrum masters from GeoFusebox and MIST client teams to plan and execute two-week sprint development cycles
  • Establish and maintain a long-term development roadmap for the core application teams
  • Maintain a strict focus on quality
  • Motivate your team for continued success, while keeping the stress level of the team to a minimum
  • Assist the Software Lead with hiring and recruiting
  • Brief customer representatives on development progress and priorities
  • Advocate for your team
More About this Program:

The FADE program has a long history of producing high-quality software solutions supporting operational mission needs. The team produces server and client components to enable analysis of extremely large volumes of geospatial / temporal data, allowing our users to glean information from an otherwise indecipherable sea of data. Our products, processes and procedures have literally changed the face of analysis within our customer community, and as a result, the team has experienced exceptional growth, nearly doubling in size in the last year. To support our continued focus on producing exceptionally high-quality software, the team needs to augment our leadership team with exceptional candidates. 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Education:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related major or equivalent
     

Experience:

  • A minimum of Five years of software development or related experience; plus two to four years of software development leadership experience.

Required Skills:

  • Technical project experience supporting the successful development, integrating, testing and deployment of a system for one or more customers
  • Successful experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams (software engineering, test and integration, and production) of eight or more individuals.
  • Experience conducting analysis of alternatives and trade studies to support evaluation of technical trade-offs and decision making
  • Understanding of and ability work within an existing software release management process
  • Experience with Agile development and methodologies
  • Experience leading team planning using Scrum or Kanban
  • Must be self-motivated with good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Developing multi-tiered application software products
  • Developing and maintaining AWS applications and services
  • Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and OGC WMS / WFS standards
  • Continuous Integration and Automated Testing tools like Jenkins / Hudson, Selenium, JUnit, etc.
  • Build automation tools, including Maven, Nexus, and / or Archiva
  • Ticketing and Agile process management tools (e.g.: JIRA)
  • UI / UX design through Balsamiq or similar applications
Desired Certifications:
  • One or more Product Owner Certifications, through a recognized certification authority (ScrumAlliance, Scrum.org, Mountain Goat Software)
  • One or more Scrum Master Certifications, through a recognized certification authority (ScrumAlliance, Scrum.org, Mountain Goat Software)
