FTL Systems Engineering Manager 2

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) seeks to fill a Systems Engineering Manager Level 2 position in the Technical Development Center of Excellence.This position may be located at any CONUS Northrop Grumman office.
Responsibilities include:
  • Functional management of a cross-discipline team of Future Technical Leaders (FTL) in rotational assignments across the US
  • Support of FTL activities such as selection of program participants, rotation identification and matching, employee development including design and implementation of FTL internal training and networking events and FTL placement upon graduation from the program
The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. He/she will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading virtually as a part of a geographically dispersed team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of experience in a technical work environment
  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience
  • Functional management of a team of 10 or more employees
  • Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong written, oral communication, and organizational skills
  • US Citizenshipand DoD Secret or higher clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD degree in a relevant field of study
  • Experience with professional development, employee retention, recruiting and onboarding, and command media compliance
  • Enterprise-wide experience, knowledge, network
  • Familiarity with the FTL program
