Flight Operations Manager 1

Northrop Grumman in Sierra Vista Arizona is seeking a Manager of Flight Operations 1.

This successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of the Hunter Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) in the OCONUS tactical environment. The successful candidate requires in-depth knowledge of UAS operations, intelligence collection capabilities, limitations and tactical employment. This role will have go/no-go decision authority for flight ops and will be looked upon as the Northrop Grumman Subject Matter Expert to the customer for safe and effective Hunter system flight and ground operations.

The position will base out of Sierra Vista, AZ and will require travel to overseas locations for a period of up to 1 year at a time.

Primary duties of this assignment:
Selection and scheduling of subordinates to support all facets of flight and ground operations.
Oversee aircraft operator, payload operator and maintainer training and adherence.
Ensure the team can successfully execute customer missions safely and within the UAS flight envelope.
Establish, document, and continually improve Ground Operations Procedures (GOPS), Flight Operations Procedures (FOPS) and locale based Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Coordinate and interact with several UAS support disciplines such as maintenance, logistics, configuration management, supportability, integration and test, systems engineering, aviation standardization and quality.
Manage anomaly resolution to ensure departures from planned missions are understood and resolved.
Ensure required reporting metrics are maintained and published as required by upper management and/or the customer.
Be capable of independent decision making.
Provide support, guidance and professional development mentorship to assigned personnel as appropriate.
Provide customer interface with the United States DoD and military organizations.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Leadership or Aviation discipline; In lieu of formal education, 4-6 years directly related experience may be considered.
3 or more years of experience as shown on your resume communicating/presenting to senior civilian and military leadership.

Must be medically cleared to deploy to OCONUS location (medical requirements available upon request).
2 years experience withUAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) or similar operations, intelligence collection capabilities, limitations and tactical employment.

Secret Security Clearance required to be considered

Preferred Qualifications:
Full Spectrum Leadership qualities
Hunter Instructor Qualifications.
Experience working in austere tactical environments
Experience managing Government Owned, Contractor Operated (GOCO) teams
Experience with aviation maintenance best practices
Experience with TAMMs, COLTs & UAS-I
Knowledge of EVMS - Prior CAM a plus
