Facilities Maintenance Manager 1

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking aFacilities Maintenance Managerto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Amherst Systems in Buffalo, New York; an organization focused on development and production of state-of-the-art Simulation Systems solutions.
The Facilities Maintenance Manager supervises employeesand outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, and equipment via one or more of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air-conditioning, heating, painting, and/or general maintenance. Sets priorities and performs forecasting and allocates the resources needed to complete all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
Responsible for daily operations of the Maintenance staff. Maintenance staff currently includesthe manager and one other maintenance professional. The Manager helps perform repairs and maintenance on building infrastructure, equipment and machines in our manufacturing and office facilities. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns and maintain compliance requirementsof facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses hand and power tools. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. Will also utilize heavy duty pickup trucks to plow snow and to tow specialty equipment trailers.
Duties also include: truck/fleet maintenance coordination, maintenance liaison tolandlords, snowplowing and deicing outdoor sidewalks and parking lots, perform office rearrangement tasks, manage recycling program.
The selected candidate must have the ability to use hand tools, work from heights and be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Occasional non-standard work hours are required.

BUFMSTR

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6 years of general maintenance experience, including a practical ability to perform various carpentry, plumbing, and painting tasks.
  • Abilityto perform work from ladders, scaffolds and powered lift platforms.
  • Must be able assemble and disassemble various types of modular office furniture including partitions and wall sections.
  • Abilityto lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must have a practical ability to utilize heavy duty pickup trucks to plow snow and tow specialty equipment trailers.
  • Ability to change between Amherst building locations based upon need.
  • Ability to be subject to both external and internal environmental conditions.
  • Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions.
  • Ability to be subject to a variety of atmospheric conditions.
  • Abilityto wear safety gear as needed to perform specific functions.
  • Clean, validNYS driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass annual NYS DOT physical exam and drug test.
  • U.S. citizenship with theability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD)Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) software
  • Ability to utilize shop machine tools
  • NYS CDL license
